When practicing or sharing these lists, follow this simple part-by-part progression:
- Part 1 (Foundation): Focus entirely on Level 1 words. Work through the lists until your child can confidently write words without matras.
- Part 2 (Vowels): Move to Level 2 words. Introduce one matra at a time (e.g., starting with आ, then इ/ई) and practice them.
- Part 3 (Advanced): Transition to Level 3 once basic spelling becomes second nature.
Daily Dictation: Simple Steps to Help Your Child
Keep dictation sessions short (10–15 minutes) and encouraging. Here is a simple step-by-step routine:
- Say it Clearly: Pronounce the word slowly and clearly. Repeat it 2 to 3 times so they can hear the individual sounds.
- Give Context: Use the word in a sentence so they know its meaning. For example, if the word is “मत”, you can say: “मत — शोर मत करो”.
- Sound it Out: Encourage your child to say the word slowly out loud. This helps them identify which letters and matras they need to write.
- Be Patient & Encourage: If they make a mistake, don’t use red crosses. Instead, praise what they wrote correctly (like the letters), write the correct spelling next to it, and have them write the correct word 3 times.
Tip: Daily practice of just 5–10 words is much more effective than a long weekly session!
